‘Thinking, Laughing, Living, Dancing: how I said Bah! to cancer’ by Stephanie Butland with a foreword by Dr. Edward de Bono is finished. All 59,544 words of it.
Of course, there will be more to do. If it goes further, I’m sure there will be changes, and rewrites, and further edits.
But for now, I can say: [...]
You may have noticed a certain drive-by quality to my blogging over the last few days.
Obviously, the family and I have been Very Busy buying a house, and doing everything that goes with it: driving up and down to Northumberland, seeing lots of houses, talking about houses, talking about how lovely our new house is, bursting [...]
I am nervous about this post, which is probably why I’ve waited until I’m on holiday to publish it.
I’ve written a poem. I don’t know why publishing poetry feels more exposing than writing about every aspect of my dance with breast cancer, but it does.
Anyway, here goes. I hope you like it.

According to Wikio, Bah! is the fifth most influential health blog in the UK and Ireland. (And the 2,223rd most influential blog overall. Less catchy, that one.)
Look here!
I’d never heard of Wikio before but having meandered around the site a bit, I like the way it distils and sorts web content and makes it [...]
I’m very excited that the next BBBB will include a signed copy of ‘Like Bees To Honey’ by Caroline Smailes. (If you haven’t come across this fabulous book, there’s a review of it, by BBBB supporter Lovely Treez, here.)

Just taking a little break from thinking about appearances to tell you that my writing was commended in a flash fiction competition! Read all about it here.
There was a moment, brief but vivid in memory, shortly after I was diagnosed with breast cancer, when I wondered whether I would stop caring what I look like.
I’ve always liked to look good. (That’s ‘what I consider to be good’ rather than ‘fresh out of Vogue’ good. I know my limits.) I always wear [...]
Here’s a question I get emailed about a lot: Someone you care about is convalescing. What’s a good thing to take them when you go to visit?
The glib answer, of course, is that you don’t have to take anything – your company, your time, the fact that you care enough to be there, will suffice. [...]
Thanks to your suggestions and reflections here and on Twitter, a bit of chat and a walk, I’ve found the title of the Bah! book.
‘Thinking, Laughing, Living, Dancing: how I said Bah! to cancer’ by Stephanie Butland, with a foreword by Dr. Edward de Bono.
First reactions from Twitter are positive: in fact I’ve sold [...]
