At what may have been my Favourite Book Event Ever, I was a guest author at the Firestation Book Swap in Windsor last Thursday. (The other guest was the fabulous Natalie Haynes. She brought a translation of Antigone to swap. I brought ‘Gentlemen Prefer Blondes’. That tells you quite a lot about the evening, in itself.)
The whole evening was a joy. Not least because my friend and one of my favourite artists, Cynthia Barlow Marrs, sat in the front row and sketched this.
The woman is a wonder. You can see her other sketches here.

Stephanie, thank you so much for returning to the Firestation — and for sitting still just long enough to fit into my Moleskine. You are a joy, and a joy to draw.
