I was asked to take part in a BBC Newcastle radio show with Jonathan Miles again yesterday – to talk about a year that changed my life.

I was in the studio with a woman who I found absolutely inspirational. Her name is Kate, she broke her back, and she took that as a major opportunity. I felt proud and a little bit overawed to be with her. Her sister Abbie was pretty fantastic too.

If you listen here you’ll hear us, from about 70 minutes in. There’s also a moving interview with Lynne Lucas, who set up the Chris Lucas Trust after her son died of a rare form of cancer.

And if you hang around long enough you’ll also get to hear my fit of the giggles when I discover that the invention for curing the curse that is camel toe (apart from wearing a frock at all times) is called the Smooth Groove. Oh yes it is.
