This is not going to stop being a cancer blog and become a blog about a cancer book, I promise. But as today is Official Publication Day, I just want to give you a quick round up of what’s going on.
Alan and I were excited to find the Bah! book in WHSmith at Gateshead. I’m not going to insist on having my photo taken every time I see my book face out on a shelf (probably), but just this once I couldn’t help myself.
Last week, I was interviewed by the charming and funny Jonathan Miles at BBC Newcastle. The interview will be broadcast this morning, on Jonathan’s show, sometime between 10am and 12 noon on 95.4FM. I won’t be listening live as I’m training in London, but it would be lovely if you could. (And then maybe drop me an email to tell me that I don’t sound too mad. Provided that I don’t sound too mad. I find it so hard to judge whether I’m making any sense in interviews – although Jonathan did ask me back, so something must have gone OK.) For those of you out of range of BBC Newcastle, I’ll post an iPlayer link tomorrow.
Tonight, my lovely friend Nathalie is hosting a little drinks-with-London-friends launch. It will be a chance for me to get squiffy with some of my favourite people and I’m very much looking forward to it. (I haven’t been drinking very much recently – part of my weight-watching-in-order-to-not-be-horrified-when-appearing-in-national-press campaign – so a glass and a half of champagne should do it. More than that and the fireman jokes will start.)
Later this month, the official launch is happening in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, I’ll be a guest on Talk Radio Europe, and I’m very excited to be embarking on a blog tour. (It’s not too late to join the fun.) And my lovely publisher, Hay House, has chosen my little book to be their Book Of The Month for October, something I consider to be a great honour.
Next month, I’ll be featured in Sainsbury’s Magazine talking about Christmas and the Bah! book. (That was what the photoshoot was all about. I hope to have pics to show you soon.)
And there are lots of other things in the pipeline, all designed to get the word about ‘How I Said Bah! To cancer’ out there. I’ll keep you posted as they happen. With thousands of books published every month, there are no guarantees that the world will notice this one, but I hope that it finds the people who need it.
If you want to be part of the Bah! book launch shenanigans, there’s something very simple you can do. (Apart from the obvious. Oh, and if you would like a signed copy, please email me and we’ll figure something out.) Pop into your local bookshop and see if the Bah! book is there – it should be in the Health section. If it is, please turn it so that the cover faces out, rather than the spine. If it isn’t in stock, please ask nicely if the bookshop is going to get it in. Then email me with your address and tell me what you’ve done, and I will send you a Bah! badge and my heartfelt thanks.
Although you deserve – and have – my heartfelt thanks anyway. Until people I didn’t know started reading the Bah! blog, I had no idea that I had anything worth listening to to say. My publication day is also your publication day. Let’s enjoy it.
I’ll be back tomorrow to tell you about one of the oddest cancer treatment side effects yet. (Apart from the hangover from the book launch.)

Have the best day ever. You’ve earned it.
That’s two references to your ‘little book’ in two days. Don’t be modest. It’s a great book and you can be rightly proud that it is now on the shelves.
Well done!
I agree with Alan
congratulations! amazon (in absence of local bookshop) have today emailed to say the estimated arrival date has moved from 17th oct to 10th oct. seven days and counting…
